Environmental Management review is a study that aims to collect and document information on an organization’s present activities and related environmental aspects, impacts, legal requirements changing circumstances and continual improvement. The review also provides an opportunity to demonstrate the potential benefits of implementing an EMS and thereby gain management and staff commitment to the EMS process. Ultimately, an environmental management review is intended to ensure that the EMS is healthy, and to look for places that improvement can be made.
A typical environmental management review will identify the environmental aspects, impacts and other environmental issues associated with an organization’s present activities and operations, identify key activities or processes of environmental significance, highlights activities and operations that can be prioritized for improvement and provide baseline data against which further improvements in environmental performance can be measured.
